  • No, I believe the U.S.--or someone-- probably should have done something much earlier. Retreating after the loss at Mogadishu was not only a sign of weakness, it allowed the country to fall into anarchy.

  • Who is "we"? Did the United States do the wrong thing by having a laissez-faire approach, as in the past, or is it doing the wrong thing now that it is tacitly supporting intervention? Or is the US just wrong no matter what it does?
